I first skied outside a ski resort with my friend Ian back east in the winter of 2009-2010 in upstate New York in the Adirondacks. I was still snow boarding back then. I hauled my snowboard up on my pack using a pair of snowshoes borrowed from the Clarkson university outdoor club’s equipment room. Mt. Conness
Brent and I “did” the North Ridge of Conness on September 5th, 2015. We moved way too slow and roped up for too much of the easy” ridge. According to the timestamps on my photos we didn’t summit until 6:50pm. The hike out was a bit of a mini epic with no trail description and lots of bushwhacking/down-scrambling in the dark. Oh, and SAR was called to find us sleeping in the truck at the trailhead…
